Children eating lunch at Univida

December 2024 Newsletter

Thank you

We do not know where to start in expressing our gratitude to the team from Ingatestone, Essex who blessed us so much with their visit to Brazil in October.
Not only did they do an outstanding job decorating our chapel, but also painted a huge section of our back wall and the steps on our patio. The team participated in our Super Saturday fun day, created a prayer tree holding requests from each student and on top of this still found the energy to play football and volleyball at breaktime! Here are some of our favourite pictures from their time with us in Fortaleza.

Amy’s Experience In Brazil

Amy's Experience at Univida
Amy with the children in Brazil

“My heart is overflowing! What UNiViDA is doing is really the Lord’s work. I have felt God’s presence here every day. I have seen and felt real joy and hope. Every smile has melted my heart and given me a greater understanding of what is possible with God.”

Claire

Claire

At only 14, Claire (name changed) has already faced many obstacles growing up in the slums. This has included the temptation to take away her own life.

Claire’s parents are separated and her father is a drug dealer. Claire says; “At The University of Life I love to dance because it takes away a great sadness in my soul. I also love theater because it takes me into another world where I can forget about my problems.”

In the years she has been a student with us, we have spent many hours encouraging and supporting Claire. Her dream is to be children’s doctor so that she can help those like her younger brother who has a speech impediment. We praise God that Claire is facing a brighter future today because of her faith. Thanks to the daily support UNiViDA offers, she has the drive to pursue her dreams.
